Day 1 - Denver
Fly from the UK into Denver where you will collect your hire vehicle and make your way to your downtown hotel.

Day 2 - Denver
Known as the Mile High City, Denver has plenty to offer with museums and attractions. Discover the history of this area of America at the History Colorado Center and Black American West Museum. Don't miss out on the opportunity to shop in Larimer Square, the 16th Street Mall and the Cherry Creek Outlets.

Day 3 - Colorado Springs (70 miles)
Today drive south for just over an hour to Colorado Springs. Here you will join a 4WD Jeep adventure through the foothills of Pikes Peak region to the spectacular Garden of the Gods red rock park. Day 4 - Colorado Springs
A full day for you to discover more of Colorado Springs at your own pace. You may like to take the Broadmoor Pikes Peak Cog Railway through steep canyons, where at the summit you can enjoy 360-degree mountain views and eastward to the Great Plains. Colorado Springs - Great Sand Dunes National Park - Mesa Verde
Day 5 - Great Sand Dunes National Park & Alamosa (205 miles)
Travel into the south of the state via the Great Sand Dunes National Park. When travelling around Colorado, you'd expect to see a varied scenery of mountains and towns, but sand dunes are sure to be a real surprise! Day 6 - Durango (150 miles)
Drive through one of Colorado’s true undiscovered jewels, the Rio Grande National Forest. Take in the dramatic mountain scenery as you climb high up in to the San Juan Mountains of Colorado and over the Wolf Creek Pass on the Continental Divide. Stop off at Chimney Rock National Monument where you can get a rare glimpse of the archaeological site of 200 ancient homes and ceremonial buildings of Ancestral Puebloans. Day 7 - Durango
Rise early for a day tour on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Ride on a coal fired, steam-powered locomotive through the untouched scenery of the San Juan Mountains. The journey takes you along the Animas River between Durango and Silverton through stunning canyon scenery, returning to Durango late in the afternoon. Hotel - Strater Hotel

Day 8 - Mesa Verde National Park (51 miles)
Continue driving west to Mesa Verde National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will join the 700 years ranger-guided tour, giving you a historical insight of the lives of Ancestral Puebloans. You will visit cliff dwellings dated from the 13th century, the largest of which is the Cliff Palace.

Day 9 - Grand Junction (260 miles)
Today choose to drive through Colorado’s Rocky Mountains via Telluride with its historic houses and the Sheridan Opera House or cross the border into Utah through high desert country and passing through the dramatic landscapes of Moab and Arches National Park. Hotel – Wine Country Inn

Day 10 - Vail (136 miles)
Enjoy an authentic vineyard experience at Wine Country Inn, located in the heart of Colorado's Wine Country. Be sure to stay for lunch for Farm to Table sustainable local produce. Visit local wineries and tasting rooms (non-drivers only) before continuing east to Vail, Colorado's premier winter resort.

Day 11 - Vail
Popular in winter, offering some of Colorado’s premier skiing, Vail may be a little quieter in the summer but there is still plenty to keep you entertained. With warm summer days and low humidity, the mountains are a playground for adventures such as hiking, you can even hike with Llamas. Once the snow melts the rivers offer some of the best rapids in the U.S for rafting or kayaking.

Day 12 - Rocky Mountain National Park (165 miles)
Drive through dramatic mountain scenery to Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park. There are adventures and activities for all ages and abilities from gentle mountain walks to adrenaline-pumping white-water rafting. Go mountain-climbing or join a photography tour learning new techniques in how to capture photos of the stunning landscapes and wildlife of this outstandingly beautiful area.
