Tadoussac, at the joining together of the Saguenay and Saint Lawrence rivers, is a place of rich heritage and natural beauty.
Renowned as the gateway to a Canadian whale-watching experience, visitors can head out into the Saguenay-St Lawrence Marine Park to watch the mighty mammals from a Zodiac-boat trip, or even from the shore as minkes and belugas come into view from land. May to November is the best time to see some of the 1,600 wild species that call the marine park home, and make sure you take the time to stop at the Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre, where you can even learn a whale song!
Within the bohemian town itself are some great restaurants serving up the local speciality, lobster, as well as French cafés and the Microbrasserie Tadoussac; a microbrewery with a view. Festivities throughout the year, including the Festival de la Chanson Tadoussac, keep the party spirit flowing through the town.
