Set right on Indian River as it flows into Rice Lake, Keene is a tiny Ontario town with much to offer. Take a trip out on the lake in an old-fashioned steam boat, or power your own journey on a canoe or kayak. You can also rent your own boat and pack a lunch for a day out sailing independently. Around the town there are plenty of trails to explore on foot or by bike and, of course, plenty of wining and dining to be enjoyed come evening time.
In the winter, when snow falls the activities take on a different theme. Horse drawn carriages turn to sleigh rides through the snow and you can even ice skate on the lake itself. Come evening time, gather round a campfire for a cosy time with loved ones.
