The only city on the stunning Bay of Fundy, and Canada’s oldest incorporated city, Saint John is a great place to explore on your wider tour of New Brunswick.
The world-famous bay offers plenty to tempt its visitors into exploring. There’s the Market Square with its galleries, shops and restaurants; the New Brunswick Museum with the Hall of Great Whales; the Saint John City Farmer’s Market; and of course viewing the famous Reversing Rapids as the tidal forces flow in and out of the Bay of Fundy.
Outside of the city, kids will love the Cherry Brook Zoo, while anyone with an interest in nature should keep their camera handy when walking around the Irving Nature Park and Rockwood Park; the only UNESCO-supported global geopark in North America.
In the summer you can enjoy one of the city’s festivals – such as Saint John Dragon Boat Festival, Fundy Fringe Festival and Buskers on the Bay Festival. Food and drink are also a big attraction for Saint John visitors; with breweries and brunch aplenty!
