This beautiful upscale lodge is set on a 13-acre peninsula on the stunning Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. The lodge is in a spectacular setting surrounded by mountains on the shores of the pristine Emerald Lake and enjoys some of the Rockies most impressive scenery and peaks.
Emerald Lake Lodge is steeped with history, the area was discovered by legendary guide Tom Wilson in 1882 during the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Century-old fireplaces, plus the lodges oak bar which was salvaged from an 1890’s Yukon saloon are historic features of the lodge.
The 84 cosy rooms and suites are housed in 24 cabin-style buildings, each featuring wood burning fieldstone fireplaces, luxury feather duvets and pillows and private balconies some with lake views.
The Lodge makes the most of the outstanding setting on pristine Emerald Lake, with spectacular mountain and lake vistas from the upper and lower verandas. After a day of hiking through this unspoiled wilderness, return to a relaxing soak in the outdoor hot tub or let your muscles recover in the dry sauna before retiring to the stately lounge or bar for a pre-dinner micro-brewed beer, scotch or cocktail.
Emerald Lake Lodge takes dining to another level, with casual bistro-style summer lunches and dinners served in a magical setting right on the shores of the lake at Cilantro. The wine cellar at Cilantro on the Lake offers fine wines from California, France, Italy and Canada. The lodge’s signature restaurant, Mount Burgess Dining Room provides a warm and intimate atmosphere and serves a seasonal menu that can include free-range elk, bison and seafood.
One of the most rewarding yet least strenuous activities at Emerald Lake is the hour long hike around the lake. Wildlife is drawn to the lakes shore so you may be lucky enough to spot moose, elk, mountain goats or even black bears. Bald eagles and osprey are also common sights. You can explore the lake by canoe and for the brave a refreshing dip in the cold waters is a popular activity.
Emerald Lake Lodge is only a 30 minute drive from Lake Louise, 1 hour from Banff or 3.5 hours from Jasper.
These cosy rooms feature wood burning fires, a spacious living area with sofa, table and chairs and private balcony overlooking the Emerald Lake. These rooms only come with a king size bed, these rooms do not have air conditioning.
These spacious suites come in two configurations, either open plan studio or one bedroom with separate lounge. The bedroom has a queen size bed while the spacious living area features a sofa and chairs in front of the wood burning fireplace. The wrap around private balcony has views over Emerald Lake.
