One of the regions’ most acclaimed hotels, The Chedi Muscat oozes sophistication and serenity. Its contemporary, simple style perfectly combines Arabic and Asian influences. Located on the Gulf of Oman, the resort is spread over 21 acres, its white-walled buildings standing amidst tranquil water ponds and manicured gardens.
Accommodation is minimalist in style and décor; sleek and uncluttered. Serai Superior Rooms are set in the three-storey main building and offer mountain or sea views. It’s worth upgrading to the more spacious Deluxe Rooms and Suites that are scattered throughout the gardens in the one and two storey Chedi Wing.
Breakfast is worth getting up for, with an impressive variety of fresh fruits, homemade bread and pastries, as well as hot dishes served at The Restaurant. This glamorous location with its show kitchens and chandeliers also makes for a buzzing dinner venue. Alternatively, dine on fresh seafood at the atmospheric Beach Restaurant or authentic Arabic mezze at the Arabian Courtyard.
During the day you won’t need to move far from your sun lounger as all three of the hotels swimming pools boast poolside restaurants. If you’re feeling active head to the tennis courts or the newly built spa and fitness centre with its large well-equipped gym. Here you can also wind down with a treatment in the spa – the largest in Muscat, or refresh with a swim in the aptly named 103 metre Long Pool.
