Argentina & Chile: Patagonia’s Lake District

This Chile and Argentina multi-centre holiday combines the capital cities of Buenos Aires and Santiago with the spectacularly beautiful Lake District which spreads across both countries in northern Patagonia.

Buenos Aires is a great start to your holiday as you discover this European-influenced city and its many unique neighbourhoods. Explore the city’s historic centre and discover upmarket Recoleta and its famous cemetery, the final resting place of the iconic Eva Peron. In the evening, Buenos Aires comes alive with the sounds of tango music and the smells of delicious Argentinian cuisine.

Bariloche on Lake Nahuel Huapi is the gateway to Argentina’s Lake District where you can trek through dense forests and take to the stunning lakes by boat. Next, you will traverse the Andes by bus and boat to reach Puerto Varas in the Chilean Lake District - a region brimming with glistening lakes, picturesque farmland and mountainous volcanoes topped with snow. While here, you will stay in Puerto Varas, which has a spectacular setting overlooking Lake Llanquihue and Osorno Volcano.

The tour concludes in Santiago, where you can discover the bustling city centre or visit a nearby winery in the Casablanca Valley to sample some of Chile’s finest wines.
