Bordering Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, the Iguazu Falls are an amazing and truly awe-inspiring sight. Reaching soaring heights of around 80 metres, 275 separate falls are spread over almost three kilometres. On this Argentinian side of the impressive natural wonder you’ll be able to wander a series of walkways that offer a variety of perspectives and views. Get up close to the most imposing of the cascades – the ominously named ‘Devil’s Throat’ – and watch as this 500-foot wide fall crashes down.
The falls are set in lush rainforest, home to more than 2,000 varieties of plants and an array of wildlife. Visitors to the Iguazu National Park might be lucky enough to spot tapirs, ocelots, howler monkeys or even jaguars!
Holidays to Iguazu can be part of an extensive tour of Argentina – including cosmopolitan Buenos Aires and wild Patagonia – or can be included as part of a Latin America multi-centre trip. Why not see the Argentinian side of the falls before hopping over the border to Brazil, exploring Rio de Janeiro and the picturesque Emerald Coast?
