Once a fishing village, Hua Hin was later transformed into a resort for royalty and high society following the construction of ornate summer palaces. Today the area is home to a host of exclusive hotels and resorts. Despite this development, Hua Hin still carries its laid-back atmosphere and is the perfect place for a beachside walk.
Weather is normally constant year round, however the mid-summer months tend to have slightly higher humidity levels. Also, due to the changes in global climate and the effects of these on tidal levels in the region, some of the beach resorts in Hua Hin can be particularly affected by unpredictable high tides and strong waves throughout the year.
For those travelling from Bangkok by road, we suggest travelling via the floating market for a very authentic experience.
