After many years of isolation from the rest of the world, having been caught up in the midst of two Indochina wars, Laos has emerged as one of Southeast Asia’s most intriguing off-the-radar locations. Retaining a deep-rooted atmosphere of tradition that has sadly started to fade among its more visited Asian neighbours, Laos’ landscape is also breathtakingly untouched, from its soaring, forested mountains to its glassy riverfronts, ancient monasteries and beguiling wilderness. Take the road less travelled, and discover a nation abundant in old-world charm and effusively friendly people.

Average daytime temperatures generally range from 25C to 30C, but can drop to 10C in the mountainous areas of the country in the north.
