Having worked in the luxury travel industry in both India and the UK, I continue to love the new experiences and new knowledge I constantly gain. Even though I was born and brought up in India, I still love discovering something or somewhere new. My eyes really do light up when I hear the word 'India' and I love conveying my passion.
It is not just the sights, destinations, hotels, food or people but a real combination of all of them that makes a trip to India & the Sub-Continent special.
Where I have travelled recently
On my most recent adventure to India, I journeyed to Delhi, Shimla and Rajasthan including a visit to the beloved Taj Mahal in Agra. I loved my stay at the Amanbagh in Alwar where I received the high levels of service Aman properties are famed for. I would highly recommend a stay in this palatial style property.
Most Memorable Experience
I have had some amazing and fascinating experiences but spotting a Royal Bengal tiger at close quarters in Central India, and dining with members of the Indian royal families in a palace has to be my most memorable! I also loved my journey on the Maharajas Express.
My Favourite Destination
As my home town, Delhi for me will always hold a special place. There is so much more to be discovered here than people realise. I also love Jaisalmer for its rich history and, the surrounding environment of the Ceylon Tea Trails in Sri Lanka where I can enjoy real and natural beauty.
My Favourite Accommodation
My favourite hotels would have to be the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur for the most romantic and unique stay and the Vivanta by Taj Madikeri in Coorg for its position in such scenic beauty. Having grown up in Delhi, I think the The Imperial New Delhi is one of India's finest hotels.
Destination Expertise & Hotels Visited
Just a quick email to say a huge thank you for all your help with our Indian holiday this month. We both fell in love with India and the package you arranged for us was wonderful with amazing hotels, first class guides and brilliant service and attention to detail.
The sights and sounds of the places we visited will stay with us for a long time and we will certainly use your company again (next year I hope!) and would be happy to recommend your company to anyone.
Many, many thanks

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in India, perfectly orchestrated by yourselves. We flew to Delhi on the 4th February and as soon as we arrived we were taken care of very efficiently by your local representative. We’d not been to India before so were a little nervous, but we need not have worried. The idea of the phone for emergencies was very reassuring. When we booked in July 2013 we went with your hotel recommendations … which were excellent. All the transfers between trains, hotels, tours etc worked like clockwork. Our driver, Nitin, was superb and we were able to sit back and enjoy the ‘road experience’ !
You managed to capture in our tour all the things we wanted for our first visit, even my husband’s request of something ‘Bollywood’. The show at the Kingdom of Dreams in Delhi the night before our return was great fun – and a very happy ending to our trip.
There is just one complaint ….we never saw a Tiger on any of our 3 Game Drives. Other people did, but luck wasn’t with us on this trip. Therefore we have a good excuse to return.
We look forward to organising something else with you in the future.

The holiday was excellent, the itinerary was spot on. In each destination the guides were excellent, we would have given them all 11 out of 10! Because of each of them and the way the holiday was arranged we felt we had a real flavour of India. We learnt so much and saw so much. We would recommend the holiday to anyone who wants to see India.

Hotel, Delhi transfers and Delhi tour guide were excellent. Whilst the service on The Palace on Wheels was outstanding, the quality of the restoration/ rebuild of the carriages was not really describeable as 'luxury'. The shower area in particular would better be described as 'heritage'.The real highlight was the service received from Sita. It was absolutely superb, and way in excess of the quality of service from W&O which was at times below the standard one would expect for such an expensive holiday. If we go to India again, we will definitely try to book direct thru Sita.

Fantastic from start to finish. In fact from before we went with the expert advise given and the time taken to identify our needs and requirements. Everything was done with attention to detail and extra little touches that made our whole trip so wonderful. I cannot recommend highly enough the quality and service that we have experienced by booking through Western & Oriental. Absolutely first class.

What a fantastic holiday arranged so successfully by Nikhil. We were quite apprehensive about visiting India but it was a holiday of a lifetime. The country is everything we had been promised - vibrant, colourful, dirty, welcoming, noisy, bustling, historic, unforgettable. The hotels were a perfect have. Thank you.
