HO CHI MINH CITY

Your journey starts in Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon, a city frenetic and colourful, humming with energy from dawn till dusk. Restored colonial houses stand side by side with sleek modern offices, emphasising the country’s rapid economic development. Over three hundred years of traditions and ancient culture can be found around every corner; Notre Dame Cathedral and Thien Hau Pagoda are among our featured highlights.

TRADITIONAL RURAL LIFE

Before departing Ho Chi Minh you visit the Mekong Delta, where traditional Vietnamese rural life continues unabated with the floating markets and emerald rice paddies lining the myriad of canals.

TROPICAL STYLE OF DANANG

Next fly on to Danang, the perfect base from which to explore this central stretch of coast - on the outskirts of the city, the impressive Marble Mountains lie at the end of world-famous China Beach, while to the south, the charming riverside town of Hoi An has many ancient treasures hidden along its narrow streets. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city and an afternoon cruise on the Thu Bon River.

ROMANTIC IMPERIALISM OF HUE

A drive north takes you to Hue. Once the capital of Vietnam this charming city is the best place to experience the imperial past of this fascinating country. A plethora of ancient palaces, striking pagodas and elaborate tombs mark the times of bygone dynasties and feared Emperors, while the backdrop of the Annamite Cordillera Mountains makes for a romantic setting.

HALONG BAY AND HANOI

Continue north with a flight to Halong where you will explore the limestone islands of Halong Bay before driving on to Hanoi. With its peaceful lakes and tree-lined boulevards, the handsome, laid back capital city of Hanoi is the perfect place to finish the tour.
