Suggested Itinerary of Western Cape

Cape Town is a delight and there is plenty of time to discover its many pleasures - the superbly redeveloped Victoria & Albert Waterfront, lovely Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, breathtaking Table Mountain and, further afield, historic Robben Island and Cape Point. The hospitable Winelands are a mere 45 minutes away where the pretty towns with their excellent wine estates, should be explored and savoured slowly, like good wine.

Along the picturesque Garden Route you will be able to visit the famous Cango Caves, the vast Tsitsikamma forest, the delightful lagoon resort of Knysna and the elephants of Addo National Park, before enjoying a true wilderness safari experience at the atmospheric Kwandwe Private Game Reserve.

This tour is an example based upon self-driving, a very easy and convenient option, however should you wish, it can also be created with a personal driver/guide throughout. The route and hotels visited can also be amended to suit your personal requirements.

Day 1
London/Cape Town
Depart London for Cape Town on your direct overnight flight.

Day 2
Cape Town
Arrive Cape Town and transfer to Camps Bay for a 4 night stay at Ezard House. (B)

Day 6
Cape Town/Franschhoek
Take delivery of your rental car and drive to Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands to stay for 2 nights in a villa at the Franschhoek Country House. (B)

Day 8
Franschhoek/Hermanus
Drive south to Hermanus where you stay for 2 nights on the beach at Birkenhead House. (B,L,D)

Day 10
Hermanus/Knysna
Commence your journey along the scenic Garden Route, driving to Knysna and the Pezula Resort for a stay of 3 nights. (B)

Day 13
Knysna/Kwandwe Private Game Reserve
Continue the drive eastwards along the Garden Route to Port Elizabeth where you return your rental car. Here you meet your ranger and transfer to the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve to stay at either the Main Lodge or Ecca Lodge for 2 nights. All game viewing is included. (B,L,D)

Day 15
Kwandwe/Port Elizabeth/London
After an early morning game drive, transfer to Port Elizabeth and fly to Johannesburg where you connect with the return flight to London. (B)

London

Prices from £3695 per person
