MUMBAI AND HYDERABAD

A restful night in Mumbai before catching a morning flight to the splendour of Hyderabad. Tour the imposing Golconda Fort and in the afternoon see the Charminar, the Mecca Masjid and the fascinating Salarjung Museum. A full day's drive takes you to Bijapur, stopping en route to visit Gulbarga and the Jami Masjid.

BIJAPUR AND BADAMI

In Bijapur magnificent buildings await you; the Gol Gumbaz one of the largest domed buildings in the world and the beautiful tomb of Ibrahim Roza. On to Badami, to see hilltop temples with rock-cut shrines and cave temples. Visit the Chalukyan period temples at Aihole and the more complex temples of Pattadakal.

HOSPET AND HAMPI

Across the Deccan Plateau to Hospet, by the Tungabhadra Reservoir. From here you will visit one of India's least accessible but most captivating sites at Hampi. Walk amongst the exceptional ruins of the Vijayanagar empire, once the capital of one of the largest Hindu empires in Indian history.

DANDELI AND GOA

A fabulous wildlife sanctuary awaits you at Dandeli, located on the banks of the River Kali and surrounded by forest hills; there are a great variety of birds to watch. Your driver will then take you on to the former Portuguese colony of Goa. A perfect place to relax, with its endless coastline of white beaches and wonderful hospitality. Explore baroque churches, sleepy villages or simply enjoy the blend of East and West. Time at leisure before your return to London from Mumbai.
