TOUCHDOWN IN COCHIN

Often known as the 'Venice of the East' this water-based city has wonderfully diverse influences.View the Chinese fishing nets, tour the Dutch Palace and Synagogue in the old Jewish town, have time at leisure or enjoy a Kathakali dance performance.

MUNNAR

Your driver will then take you into the heart of the Cardamom Hills to the old British Hill Station of Munnar. Walk in the endless rolling hills, visit Cardamom plantations and tea factories or explore the town full of grand old churches and picturesque houses.

SPICES, GAME AND TRANQUILLITY - THEKKADY AND KUMARAKOM

Enjoy the Thekkady region; an afternoon's spice walk and fabulous game viewing by boat of the beautiful Periyar National Park. Next Kumarakom, on the banks of Vembanad Lake for time to explore the village or take cruise into the 'backwaters'.

THE BACKWATERS. THE RICEBARGE

The famed 'backwaters' are a comprehensive network of lakes and lagoons, surrounded by tropical vegetation and small settlements; these ancient waterways were once the original transport arteries of the region. Your own fully staffed Ricebarge will gently cruise the canals and waterways; undisturbed you will see village life and exceptional natural beauty. Your night on board will be an experience to remember.

DISEMBARK TO THE BEACH - MARARIKULAM

Leave the Ricebarge and your driver will take you north along the coast to Mararikulam, a delightful fishing village, where you can enjoy the rest of your holiday stretched out on the beautiful beach, before heading back to Cochin and your flight home.
