Luxury holidays in Malawi

In Malawi there are five game-rich national parks but it is the lake that dominates, being the third largest in Africa and at 560km long, taking up a fifth of the area of the country.

Essentially a freshwater inland sea, there are busy ports and hundreds of fishing villages but many stretches are completely deserted with wide sandy beaches and the water for much of the year is calm and welcoming. There are a number of beach resorts and our selected lake-side lodge is on a romantic island lying close to the Mozambique shoreline.
