This private tour gives a complete overview of the fascinating regions of Oman. Starting in the capital, Muscat, you can experience the rich history and modern aspects of the city - from its bustling Corniche and harbour to the winding Muttrah Souk, Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the Palace - before exploring the mountainous interior and its forts, markets, wadis and ancient villages.
The desert of Wahiba Sands is an essential part of the tour and an overnight stay in one of the desert camps (Bedouin style simple or luxurious Desert Nights Camp) with dinner under the stars is one of the highlights. Then its back to the coast south of Muscat to the traditional dhow building yard in Sur before returning to Muscat to fly north to the Musandam peninsula for a couple of days to enjoy a dhow cruise of the fjord coastline and driving in the mountains, then south via Muscat to the Dhofar region around Salalah, famous since ancient times for its major role as a world capital of the Frankincense trade, plus its seasonally verdant fields and orchards as a complete contrast in scenery to the northern areas.
Returning to Muscat at the end of your tour to fly home you can opt to extend for a luxurious few days on the beach near Muscat.
