Explore the unique flora and fauna of Borneo: from the famous Orangutans to proboscis monkeys and the rare pygmy elephants as you cruise along the Kinabatangan River and soak up the jungle atmosphere from a memorable canopy walk.
You will be picked up from your Kota Kinabalu hotel for the mountainous drive to Kinabalu Park. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted with a jungle trek, visit to the mountain garden to explore the exceptionally rich flora with examples of Himalaya, China, Australia, Malaysia and pan-tropical flora. On return, enjoy an informative presentation organized in the Park.

Day 4 - Kinabalu Park – Poring Hot Springs – Sukau
This morning drive towards Sandakan, one of the oldest settlements on the East Coast of Borneo. Stop en route at Poring Hot Springs for a dip in its hot sulphur baths deemed to have healing properties and the breathtaking 41 metre canopy walk. Arrive at Sukau in time for dinner.

An early morning start for a cruise up the Kinabatangan River and onto Kelenanap Ox-Bow Lake for bird watching and wildlife spotting for Borneo's iconic Proboscis monkey, orangutans or pygmy elephants.. Take a short jungle walk and experience the wilderness of Borneo before returning to the lodge for breakfast.
The rest of the day is free to explore. This evening take a boat trip along the river to see many species of flora and fauna of the rainforest.

Depart the lodge early morning and explore the Gomantong Cave, famous for its edible birds nests. Follow a boardwalk through the cave systems. Enjoy lunch in Sandakan, before a city tour, visit water village, central market, Buddhist temple.
Overnight in Sandakan (B,L,D)
Head to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre for the morning orang utan feeding and a trek into pristine, protected jungles. Enjoy lunch before departing to Sandakan airport for your onward flight back to Kota Kinabalu.
