Hotel Overview

Insider's View

  • Enjoy unobstructed views of the illuminated Petronas Towers as you sip an evening cocktail at the Skybar
Set in the heart of the sprawling metropolis that is Malaysia’s capital city, Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is the ideal choice for a city stopover.
Towering high above the city and offering full-frontal views of the famous Petronas Towers, this 571- room hotel offers a convenient location for business and leisure travellers alike. It is connected to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre within the city’s shopping and entertainment  district. The real draw, apart from the views, is the hotel’s rooftop bar. The SkyBar has been voted The Best Bar and The Best Hotel Bar in Kuala Lumpur at the Best of Malaysia awards for four consecutive years. It offers 360-degree views of Kuala Lumpur but also noninterrupted vistas of the Petronas Towers. An incredible place to enjoy a cocktail as the sun sets.
There is a range of dining options in the hotel, ranging from traditional Malaysian to western delights and fine dining. For all-day dining and a relaxed atmosphere, Gobo Chit Chat is the place to be. The buffet counter features a Japanese sushi bar, appetizer bar, open noodle kitchen and bakery. For something a little more slick, Gobo Upstairs Lounge & Grill is a great place to start with a cocktail and a view, before progressing to a cosy steak dinner at The Grill.
After a long day exploring, shopping or having fun, this hotel has an inviting rooftop pool where you can enjoy views out across the city and over to the towers. It is chic and sophisticated and has the aura of a swish New York members’ club pool.

Customer Hotel Reviews

Mark McElligott says:

KL was fabulously cosmopolitan and dynamic and is a great city. It had changed a lot since my last visit in 1995! Traders Hotel is in a great location and the Traders Club room with views of the Petronas Towers, separate check in, separate breakfast area, free afternoon tea and free cocktails was great. We loved the Andaman, the location between rain forest and beach, the lovely staff, the good food and the wildlife. We would go back in a heartbeat and had a wonderful time, we’d thoroughly recommend to anybody.

Mr Trivedi says:
We were very pleased with the way the holiday and the excursions were organised and both myself and my wife had a great time. I personally cannot thank you enough for organising this trip for us as my wife thoroughly enjoyed herself and we both felt relaxed and comfortable with all the excursions. It was as my wife said a lovely anniversary celebration for us. We will certainly use the services of Western and Oriental and yours Anna particularly in the future.

We are having the most AMAZING time and truly cannot thank you enough for putting it all together for us. We got a room upgrade when we got here to the Lady Sarojin suite! It is absolutely beautiful. Was a little hesitant to start with as the outside space is a bit smaller, i remember we'd talked about it on the phone when i was booking, but we do have our own plunge pool and the room is so gorgeous, and enormous, that we couldn't resist.

David Whitley says:

Just a short note to thank you for the service and organisation you provided for Katie's trip to the Far East with her friend. It seemed that everything went like clockwork and there were certainly some surprises along the way for her, especially 'happy birthday Katie 21', depicted on her bed in rose petals when she arrived at the hotel in Borneo. She certainly had a fantastic adventure and certainly I don't think it would have been as enjoyable had we tried to organise it all ourselves (I'll stick to booking flights and hotels separately to Tenerife). Your promptness in not only replying to our initial enquiries right through to the confirmation and beyond was exemplary and I will recommend you to anyone that I know who will be venturing to that part of the world in the future.

Natalie Dalvarez says:

We got back from Malaysia last night and I just wanted to thank you for your help.  We had such a great time and really didn't want to come home!  The planning on your part was brilliant as we knew exactly where we needed to be and when so the whole experience was really relaxing!  I will definitely contact you again when we are planning another holiday.

Mr A Williams says:

The holiday was great!

The Club room at Traders was a real plus with a quieter breakfast and an enjoyable 'happy hour' (actually 2 hours!). Traders is fine as a hotel though the bedrooms are a bit dark and on the smaller side, good location for the Botanical Gardens. We had an upgrade for Gayana Eco Lodge to Ocean view (fabulous!).

At Rasa Ria the building works were to start the day before we left. We heard absolutely nothing from the Ocean Wing and we were given approx £42 per day for the whole stay to offset any inconvenience. We were also able to use our half board allowance in the Ocean Wing restaurant  'Coast' so that's what we did and we had wonderful meals!  Our room was on the 4th floor which enabled us to have the full sea view, you were right about the rooms and pool ....v. much worth the extra.

All in all everything went very smoothly and we had a wonderful time. At all places we had excellent service and we found  staff and guides to be truly charming as well as efficient.

Thanks for your assistance and availability......we're back to the 'day' jobs now to save up for the next adventure!

How To Book

How do I talk to a specialist in Malaysia holidays?

We are happy to give you a call back to discuss your holiday at a convenient time for you or we welcome you to come to our office in central London to discuss your holiday in detail.

Why use our specialist service?

Our destination experts provide a personalised service to tailormake your dream holiday. Within our experienced team we have visited most of the properties we feature and will be able to give you expertise and specialist knowledge from our first hand experience. You will be offered a direct telephone number, so you are able to speak to the same specialist from the time you pick up the phone until your documents are sent out.

Do I have to travel on certain dates and only do the itineraries suggested?

No, we tailormake all our holidays and subject to availability you will be able to travel on any date. The itineraries and holidays on our website are for inspiration and are suggestions only, you can change any aspect according to your personal requirements and available spend.

How far in advance should I book my holiday?

Many customers are under the illusion that booking late secures the best prices. This is often not the case and it is advisable to book early especially if travelling in peak seasons such as Christmas, Easter or school holidays. Many hotels and airlines actually offer special “Early Booking Offers” so you are able to secure the best price early on.

I don’t know what board basis to book. Can I eat out locally, should I consider All Inclusive?

It's always a difficult decision to make before you travel. Call one of our destination experts, who will be happy to advise you on local restaurants and prices you can expect to pay in resort.

What can I do when I get there?

There are many excursions, activities and highlights that are not to be missed out on, whilst in the country. Please contact our experts for advise on whether to prebook these before travel.

What financial protection do you offer?

When booking through Western and Oriental, if your flight is delayed or cancelled due to bad weather or you have a problem in resort it is our responsibility you are taken care of. We offer a 24 hour emergency number to assist with any issues you may have in resort and all of our flight inclusive holidays are financially protected through ATOL bonding for your protection.
