Hotel Overview

Insider's View

  • Impress a loved one with a romantic dinner in the privacy of your villa: a table for two set next to your private pool, lit by scattered candles and a menu created specially for you by the Chef
  • Seminyak beach offers the finest views of the town’s famous sunset. It’s quieter than popular beaches like Kuta, making it the perfect place to relax with a cocktail as the sun goes down.
  • The Samaya Seminyak offers a chance to experience a short religious tour to the temple “Petitenget”. The temple is located just a five-minute walk from The Samaya and is famous for its detailed architecture and ocean-facing location.
Located on the south coast of Bali with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean, this peaceful beachfront resort welcomes those looking to relax and is ideal for honeymooners.

Being the only all-villa full-service resort in Seminyak, these large beachfront and Balinese-style private villas offer a sense of pure tranquillity. They are kitted out in a traditional style where neutral colours and dark wood shine through. All villas come complete with lap pools, whilst the premier Royal Pavilion Villas house an outdoor Jacuzzi.

There is a distinctly high level of service which is typical of a Samaya resort – guests can enjoy breakfast served anywhere anytime, plus the services of a 24-hour butler.

The SPA at The Samaya Seminyak is extremely special and offers treatments inspired by the ocean. Among the spa’s extensive treatment menu is their signature massage: four hands in harmony blending five massage styles – Japanese shiatsu, Thai, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Swedish and Balinese. Of course there are many other rituals to choose from too.

The dining scene offers two restaurants, one being BREEZE beachside restaurant which overlooks Seminyak Beach. It offers exotic international and local dishes for breakfast, lunch, classical afternoon tea and romantic sunset dinners. This is alfresco dining at its finest with the backdrop of the Indian Ocean. The other option is Brasserie at The Royal Courtyard which serves traditional Indonesian fare.

Airport pick up and transfer all very good.Fantastic hotel - beautifully situated on the beach. Really well managed and great service. Very attentive staff. We were able to go up to the Samaya in Ubud for breakfast one morning which was beautiful as well - great contrast. We would definitely recommend the hotel. The Samaya was absolutely perfect! Such an excellent welcome and we really loved Ubud. The staff were excellent and really really helpful. We booked a Balinese cooking course whilst we were there, along with the market trip which was well worth the early start. We stayed in a Hill Side villa with pool which was amazing. Beautiful setting for the start of our honeymoon.

The Amala, Seminyak was not quite as special as The Samaya and in hind-sight we should have stayed in Ubud for a touch longer. Whilst Ubud is very chilled and lazy ( I can see why people stay here for long periods of time), Seminyak is the complete opposite. Crazy, busy and loud - if that's what you're after then great - but it was a little much for us. Nevertheless, we found some great places to see and great restaurants - there's lots to choose from! The Amala was a little inconsistent in terms of service.

It seemed to depend on who was on the front desk. We were asked to book the shuttle car into town if we needed to, which we did but it was repeatedly not ready on time. This wouldn't ordinarily be a problem, but when you have dinner reservations it's a little annoying. Equally, we could just have easily got a taxi (cheap as anything) but we promised the use of the car.

At times, the room wasn't quite cleaned well enough - at times we;d get new towels and glasses, at other times we wouldn't. I also found their environmental policy a touch odd. They would turn off the water fountains in the villas at 5pm, to save water presumably, but they also give guests (in the information booklet) an option to choose whether new sheets were required daily.

The guest is supposed to place a wooden leaf on the bed to signal a change - there was none and the sheets were changed regardless. The most odd thing was that you can't buy a glass of wine with dinner - only a bottle! Now for some this wouldn't be an issue, but when your husband doesn't drink wine, doing a bottle a night would probs be a tad much for me!On a more positive note, the spa at The Amala was fantastic. Great service and treatments! We thoroughly enjoyed it!.Nevertheless, we had a great honeymoon and it was brilliant to explore Bali!

Restaurants / Bars

BREEZE beachside restaurant overlooking Seminyak Beach offers international and local dishes for breakfast, lunch, and romantic sunset dinners. The modern menus that the Breeze at Samaya offers are dictated by the local harvest. The wine list is very comprehensive and a newly built-air-conditioned wine cellar allows guests to inspect the bottles before they order. At least 150 wines will be available at very conservative prices.

Brasserie, located at the Royal Courtyard favored location to serve traditional Indonesian fare, focusing mainly on the foods of Bali. We offer a unique opportunity to immerse your senses in the true flavors and aromas of this island paradise. The menu has been compiled carefully in order to make this experience accessible for the whole family.
