Hotel Overview

Insider's View

  • You can positively contribute to the resorts coral reef restoration project by 'adopting' a piece of coral.
  • Don't miss the delicious complimentary afternoon tea served at The Tea Bale
  • Private dining: Enjoy a seven-course Indonesian dinner under the stars, on the sands of Medana beach.
  • Snorkelling and diving: Take a morning or afternoon excursion to the Gili Islands. Here, you will be given the opportunity to snorkel the beautiful reefs and observe the colourful marine life.
Located in the stunning Medana Bay, offering exclusive beach access mixed with encapsulating views of Mount Agung in Bali, The Oberoi, Lombok sits in 24 acres of well-manicured gardens.

Covering 24 acres of landscaped gardens, the resort is surrounded by towering indigenous trees, and flowering bougainvillea plants. A stunning infinity pool is at its centre, and the accommodation is a mix of traditional thatched villas and pavilions, all of which afford stunning ocean and garden views. The bar, restaurants and spa are traditional, open-air structures ensuring gentle sea breezes and the scent of indigenous plants and trees as it wafts by.

At the resort, guests are treated to a plethora of activities dedicated to adventure or pure relaxation. The five-star PADI dive centre offers underwater enthusiasts the chance to sample the stunning marine world; alternatively they can keep their feet dry on a mountain biking expedition. Meanwhile, the wellness centre beckons when utter pampering is required.

As expected in a five-star resort, the dining options are plentiful. The Sunbird Café serves breakfast and lunch in an alfresco dining space featuring an outdoor kitchen and intimate tables shaded by parasols or nestled under lofty palms. Located within the lush hotel gardens, the award-winning Lumbung Restaurant includes an open-sided, thatched structure and an alfresco courtyard. Named after the native geckos that you can hear at night, the open-air Tokek Bar serves fine wines, coffee and cocktails.

Customer Hotel Reviews

Mr Trivedi says:
We were very pleased with the way the holiday and the excursions were organised and both myself and my wife had a great time. I personally cannot thank you enough for organising this trip for us as my wife thoroughly enjoyed herself and we both felt relaxed and comfortable with all the excursions. It was as my wife said a lovely anniversary celebration for us. We will certainly use the services of Western and Oriental and yours Anna particularly in the future.

Lee Gamble says:

Hi Ricky,
Thank-you for sorting the problem with the meals. The Garuda flight was 18 minutes- the shortest flight of my life!

Just a note to say what an amazing honeymoon we had. The Oberoi Lombok and The Samaya Ubud were first class. If you do book another couple into the Samaya, you can recommend villa 105. Stunning.

The Amala Seminyak was fine for a short stay, although, in my opinion our room could have done with a good clean. It was a bit grubby. The place itself was lovely and the staff were very friendly.

Again, the Marinda Mandarin Singpore, was OK. Huge, impersonal place with Holiday Inn style rooms- a bit of a step down from the Samaya, yet adequate for a 2 night stay. Superb location. Terrible concierge - on two occasions when asking for a restaurant they recommended the food court at the adjoining shopping mall! The second time was after explaining that we were on honeymoon.

But overall, a fantastic time. Thank-you!

Kind regards,
Lee Gamble

How To Book

How do I talk to a specialist in Bali holidays?

We are happy to give you a call back to discuss your holiday at a convenient time for you or we welcome you to come to our office in central London to discuss your holiday in detail.

Why use our specialist service?

Our destination experts provide a personalised service to tailormake your dream holiday. Within our experienced team we have visited most of the properties we feature and will be able to give you expertise and specialist knowledge from our first hand experience. You will be offered a direct telephone number, so you are able to speak to the same specialist from the time you pick up the phone until your documents are sent out.

Do I have to travel on certain dates and only do the itineraries suggested?

No, we tailormake all our holidays and subject to availability you will be able to travel on any date. The itineraries and holidays on our website are for inspiration and are suggestions only, you can change any aspect according to your personal requirements and available spend.

How far in advance should I book my holiday?

Many customers are under the illusion that booking late secures the best prices. This is often not the case and it is advisable to book early especially if travelling in peak seasons such as Christmas, Easter or school holidays. Many hotels and airlines actually offer special “Early Booking Offers” so you are able to secure the best price early on.

I don’t know what board basis to book. Can I eat out locally, should I consider All Inclusive?

It's always a difficult decision to make before you travel. Call one of our destination experts, who will be happy to advise you on local restaurants and prices you can expect to pay in resort.

What can I do when I get there?

There are many excursions, activities and highlights that are not to be missed out on, whilst in the country. Please contact our experts for advise on whether to prebook these before travel.

What financial protection do you offer?

When booking through Western and Oriental, if your flight is delayed or cancelled due to bad weather or you have a problem in resort it is our responsibility you are taken care of. We offer a 24 hour emergency number to assist with any issues you may have in resort and all of our flight inclusive holidays are financially protected through ATOL bonding for your protection.
