This hotel’s story is as whimsical as it is unique. Its owners, having purchased an old cocoa plantation in Saint Lucia, sat on its wide veranda one evening discussing the loveliness of the estate over a drink (or two). As the rum-count grew, so did the idea of creating a boutique hotel.
The result is an idyllic hotel, with jungle-surrounded hilltop lodges perched right next to the cacao plantation. Of course, the real emphasis is on the plantation’s produce – its chocolate. Guests are encouraged to join in master classes to understand how it is created; the spa indulges in chocolate-based treatments; the restaurant serves up sumptuous meals that include ways of introducing chocolate into savoury dishes.
To work some of this chocolate-madness off, take a dip in the black quartz infinity pool, head down to the beach, or take advantage of some of the stunning hiking trails nearby.
