Insider's View

  • Located on the highly-acclaimed Crane Beach
  • Lovely accommodations, some with private pools
  • Family-friendly hotel and resort
  • Duty free shopping available and a selection of restaurants
  • Six swimming pools and tennis courts

Situated on Crane Beach itself on the south east side of Barbados, The Crane has existed as a hotel since 1887. Voted one of the ‘Top 10 Best Beaches in the World’ by Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, the hotel couldn’t be situated in a more perfect location.

With three accommodation areas, we recommend a stay in the Residences by the Sea, equipped with kitchens, outdoor dining areas and in some accommodations, there are even private pools. At this great Barbadian resort, the beach can be accessed via a staircase or a glass-front beach elevator. There are umbrellas, loungers and towels at the beach as well as light snacks and drinks from the beach hut. This public beach is a great place for safe swimming. If you fancy swimming in the pools, then you’ll be spoilt for choice. There are 6 outdoor pools at The Crane, including; a cliff top pool with views of the beach, a lagoon pool, a kid’s wading pool, a waterfall pool and a Jacuzzi spa pool.

With a shopping and restaurant area called The Village, there’ll be no reason to even leave The Crane! Walk around the cobbled streets and lush gardens, wander into the duty free shop and other boutiques, dine at D’Onofrio’s for Italian cuisine, enjoy drinks at Bar 1887 and desserts at The Village Café. Additionally within the hotel, dine at the two highly-acclaimed fine dining restaurants, Zen and L’Azure.

Unwind completely at Serenity Spa located in The Historic Hotel area where are four treatment rooms for massages, facials, body treatments and manicures and pedicures. There’s also a fitness centre in The Village, yoga sessions available, two floodlit tennis courts and the hotel is conveniently located only 10 minutes from Barbados’ Golf Club.
