Hotel Overview

The Pimalai is an ever popular resort, receiving acclaim for its combination of quality and style, in a romantic secluded setting, tremendous value and particularly recommended for those wanting to experience a top class resort in a spectacular out of the way location on 900 metres of pure white sandy beach.

The resort is set on a hillside, overlooking a quiet bay, with dense tropical forest on three sides, and a glorious beachfront. Lanta Yai is reached by a 60 minute flight from Bangkok to Krabi, followed by approximately 90 minutes to two hour transfer by road and either ferry or the resort’s speedboat (depending on the time of day/year).

The 82 rooms, suites and beach villas are dotted around the property, equipped with king or twin size beds and are built in traditional style, using local woods and fabrics. The majority are Deluxe Rooms, located on the hillside, with sea facing balcony or patio and satellite TV. In addition there are four bay front deluxe rooms which are larger and enjoy a prestigious location - early booking is essential. Also available are a selection of one and two bedroom pavilion suites that are ideal for families with extra living room. In addition there are seven private beach villas, offering one, two and three bedrooms. The one bedroom villas share a pool, and the two and three bedroom villas have private pool.

It has a secluded and rather stunning location, with some alternative nightlife or activity close by, dotted with a few bars, restaurants and shops. As the resort enjoys a totally natural setting, you do have to be comfortable with the sight and sounds of nature, and be prepared for a few steep steps linking the rooms and facilities.

Pimalai Estate Villas
The 39 elegant one, two and three bedroom villas are perched dramatically above the resort, with commanding views of the bay below and beyond. The villas offer spacious privacy, with each bedroom having en suite bathroom, dining - living room, kitchenette, sundeck and private pool. All the facilities of the resort are available to you, plus you have a separate restaurant, bar and swimming pool. A buggy service is available on demand.

No, we tailormake all our holidays and subject to availability you will be able to travel on any date. The itineraries and holidays on our website are for inspiration and are suggestions only, you can change any aspect according to your personal requirements and available spend.

How far in advance should I book my holiday?

Many customers are under the illusion that booking late secures the best prices. This is often not the case and it is advisable to book early especially if travelling in peak seasons such as Christmas, Easter or school holidays. Many hotels and airlines actually offer special “Early Booking Offers” so you are able to secure the best price early on.

I don’t know what board basis to book. Can I eat out locally, should I consider All Inclusive?

What can I do when I get there?

What financial protection do you offer?

When booking through Western and Oriental, if your flight is delayed or cancelled due to bad weather or you have a problem in resort it is our responsibility you are taken care of. We offer a 24 hour emergency number to assist with any issues you may have in resort and all of our flight inclusive holidays are financially protected through ATOL bonding for your protection.
