Situated in the peaceful Gangtey Valley, only minutes from the Gangtey Goenpa (monastery) is the beautiful and remote Gangtey Goenpa Lodge. A luxurious property with twelve accommodations, it has been designed in a Bhutanese style, drawing influences from its surrounding culture. Opened in November 2013, the lodge was designed by Mary Lou Thompson, and is the perfect retreat from everyday life.

Farmhouse Suites are furnished with hand cut heated stone floors, wood burning stoves, a deep bath and all have views of the valley and monastery. Relax in the main lodge where there are leather sofas and fireplaces and also on the outdoor terrace. Guests enjoy complimentary use of the mountain bikes and the restaurant serves western, Bhutanese and Asian cuisines.

How far in advance should I book my holiday?

Many customers are under the illusion that booking late secures the best prices. This is often not the case and it is advisable to book early especially if travelling in peak seasons such as Christmas, Easter or school holidays. Many hotels and airlines actually offer special “Early Booking Offers” so you are able to secure the best price early on.

I don’t know what board basis to book. Can I eat out locally, should I consider All Inclusive?

What can I do when I get there?
