Hotel Overview

Insider's View

  • Take advantage of the hotel's complimentary Shopping Companion Service. The in-hotel experts will ensure you get the best products at the best prices.
  • Escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok with a visit to the tranquil Banyan Tree Spa.
  • Take to the waters of the Chao Phraya River on board Banyan Tree’s own boat. Bringing restaurant Saffron’s award-winning cuisine to the water – this is the ideal romantic night out.
Soaring in the heights of one Asia’s busiest cities, Banyan Tree Bangkok is an oasis of sophistication and tranquillity – offering excellent viewpoints, an awardwinning spa and truly delectable dining.
Set right in the heart of the city on South Sathon Road, this hotel offers 327 rooms each boasting mesmerising cityscape views. Designed for both business travellers and tourists alike, a stay here means you are never too far from the city’s main attractions. Each room conforms to an earthy colour palette utlising deep reds, browns, golds and beige. The large floor-to-ceiling windows allow its guests to witness the ever-moving city – day or night.
The hotel’s attractions are its main pull though. The rooftop bar and restaurant is often credited as one of the best in the city; Vertigo restaurant offers rooftop dining atits finest – being alfresco and affording 360-degree views across Bangkok. It serves seafood and premium steaks. The other restaurants in the hotel, may not have the pull of being on top of the city but they shouldn’t be overlooked. Choose from award-winning Bai Yun serving Cantonese, or the signature restaurant, Saffron.

Customer Hotel Reviews

P Mower says:

Our guide Nong at Elephant Hills was wonderful, the accommodation and food was also excellent. We very much enjoyed Thailand and the Sarojin all day breakfast in particular was 'uniquely perfect'.

Mark Brady says:

I wouldn’t normally find the time to thank somebody that we booked a holiday through. I can only say that the holiday you organised for us was absolutely faultless. From the lounge at Heathrow, the flights and all the transfers were excellent. We were totally spoilt by both hotels. The Banyan Tree upgraded us to a suite and treated us to a bottle of bubbly. The service at the Banyan Tree was exceptional and it was perfectly located. The extras in the club lounge were a really good benefit. The Melati Beach was also special. They also treated us to a bottle of Prosecco and made up the room special for our anniversary, We thought the hotel may have been a little quiet after arriving but it really grew on us. The staff were brilliant, they couldn’t have treated us better. The food at both restaurants was of a very high quality. The All-Inclusive option worked out really well and they did include wine by the glass! Thank you for organising such a good holiday for us. Were so happy, we would like you to look at organising our next holiday in March 2015.

Jane Robertson says:

Fab holiday, brilliant guides and driver - especially in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.Hotels were all superb. Anantara room is a little dated but still luxurious. Banyan tree and Sala Samui hotels were fabulous. Badly bitten by mosqitos at Anantara in the early evening as situated by the River Ping. Bangkok is huge and bustling and we were glad to leave after three nights although we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves there. Flights and transfers all ran like clockwork and we were picked up and dropped off on time all the way through the holiday. Sala Samui staff and hotel and setting were all brilliant. Our concerns about the trouble in Bangkok amounted to nothing and we were sad to learn how their tourism trade has suffered as a consequence. The only downside we encountered was the Half day trip of Kho Samui which was a complete and utter exploitation of trying to get us to buy the usual tat from grotty shops. The places we were taken to where like a one horse town in baking heat where we were left to trundle up and down the shops in the baking sun, the beaches we passed were filthy, the waterfall full of drunken backpackers and the visit to the Golden Budda was again a selling opportunity by the guide. Finally, who really wants to see a mummified monk with raybans and false teeth - I rest my case! So all in all apart from the trip above we give the whole holiday 100% and thank Ricky Coates once again for compiling a super holiday for us

Mr Raymond Orgill says:

The Banyan Tree (Bangkok) was superb and we went for the Club option which was good value. The Centara was good and again we went for the club option. We were in Thailand during their worst floods for years but we were unaffected.

How do I talk to a specialist in Thailand holidays?

We are happy to give you a call back to discuss your holiday at a convenient time for you or we welcome you to come to our office in central London to discuss your holiday in detail.

Why use our specialist service?

Our destination experts provide a personalised service to tailormake your dream holiday. Within our experienced team we have visited most of the properties we feature and will be able to give you expertise and specialist knowledge from our first hand experience. You will be offered a direct telephone number, so you are able to speak to the same specialist from the time you pick up the phone until your documents are sent out.

Do I have to travel on certain dates and only do the itineraries suggested?

No, we tailormake all our holidays and subject to availability you will be able to travel on any date. The itineraries and holidays on our website are for inspiration and are suggestions only, you can change any aspect according to your personal requirements and available spend.

How far in advance should I book my holiday?

Many customers are under the illusion that booking late secures the best prices. This is often not the case and it is advisable to book early especially if travelling in peak seasons such as Christmas, Easter or school holidays. Many hotels and airlines actually offer special “Early Booking Offers” so you are able to secure the best price early on.

I don’t know what board basis to book. Can I eat out locally, should I consider All Inclusive?

It's always a difficult decision to make before you travel. Call one of our destination experts, who will be happy to advise you on local restaurants and prices you can expect to pay in resort.

What can I do when I get there?

There are many excursions, activities and highlights that are not to be missed out on, whilst in the country. Please contact our experts for advise on whether to prebook these before travel.

What financial protection do you offer?

When booking through Western and Oriental, if your flight is delayed or cancelled due to bad weather or you have a problem in resort it is our responsibility you are taken care of. We offer a 24 hour emergency number to assist with any issues you may have in resort and all of our flight inclusive holidays are financially protected through ATOL bonding for your protection.
