This majestic 250 year old 18th century Ahilya Fort lies on the banks of the sacred Narmada river in Madya Pradesh. The Fort is owned by well travelled Prince Richard Holkar. Maheshwar is one of our favourite places in India, as it is less intense and you can just sit in the comfort of your balcony or the terrace of the fort and watch the ghats.
