Portugal Travel Guide

Why Portugal?

Why Portugal?

Why Portugal?

From its majestic medieval castles and quaint cobblestone villages to the golden vista of its stunning coastline and the buzz of its cosmopolitan cities, Portugal is a small country with plenty to offer in the way of variety and contrast. No where is this more apparent than across its captivating countryside, where rolling green hills swoop into deep valleys and sprawling vineyards until they reach the soaring mountain peaks that form the border with Spain. The country’s colourful history is everywhere you look, from the elaborate architecture of the cities to the many UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the simple but delicious cuisine draws from the very best of the fertile countryside and endless coastline.

When is the best time to visit Portugal?

When is the best time to visit Portugal?

Portugal can virtually guarantee baking sun throughout the summer months, certainly between June and September, when temperatures average 30°C. If you are keen to do some hiking or explore the cities and archaeological sites then May and October may be better months to visit, when temperatures are less fierce.
