Holidays in Paros
Situated nearby the island of Antiparos, Paros, once known for its white marble, is a charming island with golden sand beaches and a good wind for both windsurfing and kite surfing.
Well worth a visit is the capital of Parikia on the north west side of the island where there is a traditional harbour and Cycladic style houses of white walls and blue-painted doors and windows. Here there is an archaeological museum and the Church of 100 Doors. Also make a visit to the mountain village of Lefkes, a great spot for a wander around on a hot afternoon.
Paros is accessed from the UK by a flight to Athens and then to Paros (summer season onlu), by flying to Mykonos and taking a 30 minute to 1 hour ferry journey or by flying to Santorini and taking a ferry journey lasting between 1.5-3 hours (depending on ferry type). The island of Paros makes a great twin centre holiday with the islands of Santorini or Mykonos.
