I have worked in travel for the past 8 years but I have always loved it. From the adventure of back packing around India, beach hopping through Thailand and working in Australia, to family holidays with my children in Greece and France, city breaks with friends, and weekends away with my partner.
I love venturing off the beaten track a little and discovering some new experience wherever I go. However, these days my holidays are mainly dictated by the school term, and I am pretty happy with good food, a great beach, a comfy bed and my favourite little people.
I have recently travelled to Cyprus which has a great climate, lovely food, some fantastic hotels with excellent service and is a perfect year round getaway for families, couples or friends.
It is too hard to single out just one experience but one of my most memorable has to be scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, Australia, where the variety of sea life, vivid colours and sheer beauty made it an ‘out of this world’ experience. Another would be travelling around India where I was lucky enough to meet the Dalai Lama, stay on a houseboat in Kashmir, and walk the foothills of the Himalayas. Truly awe inspiring!
Again, so many to choose from but I love Greece! I love the food, the history, culture and the wonderful varied landscapes. Every place in Greece is different and there is always something new to discover wherever you go. I first went to Greece as a teenager with my family travelling from Athens to Santorini, onto Samos and Crete. I‘ve returned to Crete recently and stayed at some stunning hotels. I also love the Ionian island of Zakynthos, as it feels very different to other parts of Greece with lush green landscapes, as well as being a national marine park protecting endangered Loggerhead turtles. Seeing them swimming in the sea around you is a real privilege.
I have stayed at the Asterias Suites at the Sani Resort in Halkidki, Greece. It is perfect for a really special holiday with stunning accommodation, a perfect beach, and great food and wine. The service is fantastic and the wider resort has something to suit everyone. My tip – charter the resort yacht for a day and discover hidden beaches or to watch the sunset with a glass of champagne. It's perfect!
